St Pancras International Eurostar Terminal now open
St Pancras International, the stunning new Eurostar terminal in central London.
With St Pancras International station now restored to its full 19th century glory - but with a remarkable 21st century 'twist' - it has replaced Waterloo International as London's Eurostar terminal.
The first trains arrived at the new terminal on 14 November after travelling from France at up to 186 mph.
We collected several groups of Eurostar passengers from the station and whisked them to their destinations in and around London. First class high speed trains, then first class Redwing coaches - what could be better?
Eurostar's move to St Pancras International and the introduction of through fares from dozens of UK cities makes Eurostar even more accessible than before, putting the pressure on airlines and ferry companies.
The station is well worth a visit, even if you're not travelling. The project cost £800 million and the result is truly spectacular.

'Wrapped' coach at World Travel Market
Spot the coach!
For the third year running, Redwing Coaches is operating a 'mobile billboard' coach for the Catalonian Tourism Board of Spain at the prestigious World Travel Market, held at the Excel Exhibition Centre in London's Docklands.
The coach is 'wrapped' all over with special vinyl skins printed with the full colour graphics promoting Catalonia. It then operates as one of our official World Travel Market shuttle coaches, transferring visitors between London City Airport, Excel and selected local hotels.
With it's striking design, countless thousands of people will take a good long look and absorb the message. It's difficult not to notice!

Three years in a row. Can you see a pattern here? The Catalonian Tourism Board know what they're doing - their wrapped coach produces results, or they wouldn't keep doing it. Ramon Pons, Operations Manager for the Catalonian Tourism Board in the UK, is delighted with the latest design.
The vinyl skins were provided by Vinyl Creations of Sittingbourne (see our Links page. It's a highly skilled task, creating and then applying the vinyl panels to the complex contours of our very large coaches. The end result is simply stunning. And every year the design is even more impressive than the last.
And in case you were wondering - yes, the passengers can still see through the windows!

Redwing fleet is London Low Emission Zone compliant
All Redwing coaches are LEZ compliant.
The London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) comes into effect in February 2008, placing restrictions on particle exhaust emissions in an attempt by Transport for London (TfL) to reduce pollution in the capital.
The zone covers almost the whole of Greater London, from the centre of the city to the outer suburbs. Vehicles that fall below the LEZ standards will pay a 'surcharge' to enter the LEZ.
Lorries are the first vehicles required to comply with the LEZ standards by meeting, at a minimum, the Euro III standards for emissions from February 2008.
Coaches must comply with Euro III by July 2008 and then with Euro IV by 2012.
However, the Redwing fleet has been compliant with Euro III since 2002, and in fact most of our vehicles already meet the higher Euro IV standard, five years before it becomes compulsory within the LEZ.

Redwing Coaches has agreed a new partnership with Crystal Palace Football Club, providing Away matchday travel for the forthcoming 2007/2008 season.
Kevin Watts, HR & Commercial Director of Crystal Palace Football Club, required a coach service that would provide a first class quality experience for the club's fans, over and above the basic expectations. We've put together a superb package that addresses all the Club's requirements.

Our new Optare Soroco mini-coaches combine considerable style and comfort with sophisticated engineering and unbeatable build quality.
The 19-seat minicoaches exude luxury with extensive use of soft trim throughout the saloon, including the centre roof panel and full-length parcel rack. They have Kiel reclining seats and tinted side windows with full-draw curtains. Full air conditioning ensures a pleasant travelling environment regardless of weather conditions.

Grimebusters toiling through the night
Redwing coaches are washed before every trip.
After a hard day on the roads our coaches often return to base splattered with mud and filth. But the next day they're sparkling clean again.
How do we keep our luxury coaches sparkling clean? A man with a mop and bucket? A hose pipe?
Absolutely not. We have our own state of the art automatic coach washing machine, a giant version of the automatic car wash at your local garage. Press a button and the rollers and water sprays start their work, making their way along the length of the coach.
We take great pride in the appearance and cleanliness of our coaches. You can be sure your coach will start the day spick and span, both inside and out.

New Soroco mini coaches are a great success
We recently added two 19-seat Optare Soroco mini-coaches to our fleet of over 75 luxury coaches.
Most of our coaches are in the 48/53-seat category, and we also have a number of 32-seat midi-coaches.
The 19-seat category is a new innovation for Redwing, allowing us to better satisfy the requirements of any size of travel group.
Feedback from clients during the Sorocos' first few months of operation has been very positive.

Summer Wedding? Book Now!
Plan your wedding transportation in good time.
If you're getting married this Summer, now's the time to sort out the logistics.
You can plan it the old way - where scores of guests converge haphazardly on the church, register office and reception venue under their own steam. Or you can plan it the clever way, and provide a luxury, private, air-conditioned coach service from a convenient central meeting point to the ceremony, then on to the reception and back to the meeting point.

Chelsea supporters travel with Redwing Coaches for FA Cup match
Redwing has lots of experience transporting large numbers of sports fans.
Redwing will be taking several coachloads of Chelsea FC supporters to Manchester on 15 April for their FA Cup semi-final match against Blackburn Rovers, held at Manchester United's Old Trafford Stadium.
Chelsea and Blackburn Rovers have only played each other three times in the FA Cup. Chelsea lost in 1909, won in 1931 and lost again in 1984, so it's 76 years since the Blues beat Rovers in an FA Cup match. They're hoping to succeed once more on the 15th.
The winners will play either Watford or Manchester United on 19 May at the new Wembley stadium.

The 53rd UK Coach Rally at Brighton
This Redwing Beulas EuroRider coach won Best Standard Coach at the 51st UK Coach Rally back in 2005.
An annual institution since 1955, the UK Coach Rally has been held at Madeira Drive on the seafront in Brighton for most of that time. As a result it's often referred to as the Brighton Coach Rally. It takes place this year on the 14/15 April.
The rally brings together trade exhibitors, coach operators and drivers, as well as many members of the public. There's a relaxed and informal atmosphere, with everyone talking coaching and inspecting the buffed up vehicles on display.
Colin Miller, our Sales and Key Accounts Manager, will be at the Rally on both days, so don't hesitate to seek him out and say hello.
After a demanding 80 mile rally competition on the Saturday morning, precision driving and manoeuvring tests take place in the afternoon. On the Sunday morning the coaches are judged and the driving test finals are completed, followed by prize presentations in the afternoon.
It's an interesting and enjoyable day out. Perhaps we'll see you there?

New Redwing luxury coaches near completion

Sixteen new coaches are due for delivery by the end of April. Fourteen are full-size Setra S415 GT-HD coaches, currently being fitted out at the factory in Germany. The other two are 19 seater Optare Sorocos, a luxury coach ideal for smaller groups.
For many years now, Redwing Coaches have operated a policy of regular planned fleet renewal. This means we always have one of the youngest large fleets of luxury coaches in Europe.
As a Redwing customer you can always be certain you'll be travelling in a modern, luxurious and comfortable coach fitted with the latest safety features and maintained in first class condition by our own team of experienced mechanics.

32 coaches for Chelsea Football Club
Redwing are the experts at transporting large numbers of people.
Last Sunday we transported thirty two coaches full of Chelsea supporters from London down to Cardiff in Wales for the Carling Cup Final against Arsenal at the Millennium Stadium.
Parked end to end the coaches would stretch for over 400 metres, enough to surround the entire football pitch.
Chelsea won 2-1 after an eventful game, which made the trip a complete success for all involved.

Nigel Taylor joins Redwing management team
Nigel Taylor has been promoted.
After ten years with Redwing, firstly as a driver and more recently as our Night Manager, he has now joined our main management team, based at our headquarters in Herne Hill in south London.
Enthusiastic and highly motivated, Nigel has been in the coaching industry since 1979, so his considerable experience will be invaluable to us as he assists other members of the management team.

Redwing transports Cirque du Soleil performers
A Cirque du Soleil performer and Redwing passenger!
Redwing Coaches supplied daily coaches for the cast and crew of Cirque du Soleil's 'Alegria' during their recent season in London. We transported them between their living accommodation and the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington.
This is the second year we've worked with this much acclaimed show.
We hope this partnership will continue well into the future, when Cirque du Soleil returns to London in 2008 with 'Varekai', their latest production.

Four million pounds investment in new Redwing coach fleet
Fourteen new coaches like this one arriving soon.
To ensure that Redwing Coaches continues to be London's Leading Coach Operator, we've just completed negotiations to replace fourteen vehicles in our existing fleet.
The fourteen brand new replacements, built to our own exacting specifications, will be Setra S415 GT-HD models, one of the best vehicles money can buy. They will be Euro 4 compliant, with the option to run on 'Bio-Diesel', ensuring we do our best to stay Green and protect the environment.
This investment, part of our regular planned replacement programme, will bring the number of Setras in our fleet up to twenty four, out of a total of nearly sixty luxury coaches, all of which are new or recent models.
The first deliveries will take place in late March or early April this year.

Consort Tours
A big thank you to all the Consort Tours customers who travelled with us during the last fifteen years.
Consort Tours, formerly part of the Redwing Group, has now closed, following our strategic decision to leave the retail tour market and concentrate on private coach hire.
The last tour visited Spain over the Christmas and New Year break, with two of our best drivers ensuring that all our guests had a great time. They even threw in some extra excursions, ending the Consort Tours era on a high note.
We would like to thank all our many thousands of Consort Tours passengers for their loyal support over many years. A great deal of fun was had by all.

Colin Miller has been appointed Sales and Key Account Manager at Redwing Coaches.
After a thirty year career in the Metropolitan Police, Colin joined the coaching industry in 2001 as Marketing Manager of a London based coach operator, and was soon promoted to General Manager. In 2005 Colin joined the Redwing Group and until recently was the Manager of TWH Travel.
In his new position at Redwing Coaches, Colin will enhance Redwing's customer focus, offering you the excellent, knowledgeable service that we are renowned for.

Redwing and the Three Pointed Star
We transported 2000 guests to the DaimlerChrysler Christmas Party at Mercedes-Benz World.
On the evenings of 15 and 16 December, the DaimlerChrysler Retail department held their Christmas party at the outstanding purpose built facility on the old Brooklands Airfield, in Surrey.
The two evenings involved more than 40 Redwing Group coaches, bringing guests from as far afield as Manchester, Birmingham and Milton Keynes. The evenings went without a hitch, with all 2000 people transported in comfort and safety aboard our luxury coaches.
Clive Stephens, Mercedes-Benz World's General Manager said of the service we provided: 'I would personally like to thank you and your team for all the effort and hard work in supporting us at DaimlerChrysler's Christmas party. The feedback during and after the event has been fantastic, and both evenings were enjoyed by all!'
If you're passing, the Facility at Brooklands is well worth a visit. There's a Museum of old Mercedes, including Racing Cars, a restaurant, a skid pan and driver training area, and a full car sales dealership on site.
