SAFETY ON BOARD OUR COACHES
Safety is not something that can be bolted on as an afterthought.
Safety is a process, a state of mind, and it is completely integrated into every aspect of our operations.
JOURNEY PLANNING
Journeys are planned to ensure that drivers can safely stay within speed limits. Top speeds are governed by stipulated limits and all tachograph and drivers’ hours regulations are carefully observed.
All our coaches are equipped with tracking systems, so we can keep a close eye on where they are and drivers can track their journeys in full.
All coaches are fitted with a hands-free mobile phone for the driver’s use.
DRIVERS
All our drivers are true professionals, safety conscious, highly trained and proud of the job they do.
SAFETY BUILT IN
We use only the latest, most technologically advanced touring coaches, purchased brand new and equipped to our own specifications. The coaches have rigid safety bodies built to exceed current safety legislation, and all are equipped with ABS braking systems, which can operate in even the most adverse weather and traffic conditions.
SEAT BELTS
We were the first large coach operator in London (and possibly the country) to insist on lap strap safety belts for all our passengers – several years before the law demanded it. Today, all our coaches have safety belts, and 98 percent of the fleet is fitted with three-point inertia-reel safety belts, similar to the ones in your car.
MAINTENANCE
We maintain our own vehicles in our state-of-the-art maintenance facility, which is certified as an MOT testing station. Repairs and maintenance are carried out regardless of cost, wherever needed, so our coaches are always in peak condition.
CCTV
CCTV is provided on board all our coaches to give you peace of mind during your journey. We were one of the first coach companies to install CCTV in all vehicles and we have found its presence makes a big difference to our passengers’ state of mind.
